Our Mission: Protecting Lives on the Job Site
In the early 90’s multiple construction companies in Nebraska participated in various industry trade associations. There are many such associations still going strong. However, the focus on safety by those associations appeared to receive less attention as compared to other initiatives. With this in mind two Safety Directors from different companies, Bob Edick and Ruben Bera, came up with the idea of creating a stand-alone focus group working together to promote safer worksites.
This collaborative effort grew over the years and became the Nebraska Construction Safety Professionals. In 2012 our name changed to Nebraska Safety and Health Professionals, the intent being to reflect our emphasis on building safer, healthier worksites. Shortly thereafter it became apparent that the focus of our organizations is to promote safety and health in construction, so now we are officially known as the Nebraska Construction Safety and Health Professionals (NCSHP).
The NCSHP is an all-volunteer 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to promote a safe and healthy working environment in construction through education and collaboration
We provide real life work experiences. We are an established, growing network of Safety Professionals who are with you in the field, not just behind a desk.
